ČHMÚ warning - Extreme Heat Stress

Extreme heat stress expected. High risk of overheating and dehydration. Heavy load on the healthcare system and social services (especially care for the elderly and chronically ill). Significant decline in worker performance with a marked increase in the risk of occupational accidents or illness, particularly for outdoor jobs or work in stuffy enclosed environments.

Avoid exposure to the sun or overheated urban areas, strictly maintain hydration with increased intake of non-alcoholic beverages (including mineral replenishment), avoid higher physical/mental loads, ventilate only during cooler parts of the day (usually early morning). In case of health problems, seek medical help without delay. Do not leave children or animals in parked vehicles. Set air conditioning in rooms or vehicles so that the body is not exposed to excessive thermal shock when moving in or out; the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures should not exceed 5 to 8 °C.

Effective until: 2. 8. 2026, 00:00

ČHMÚ warning - Major Fire Impact

High risk of fires due to prolonged drought. Probable occurrence of severe fires with subsequent damage. Extensive damage to ecosystems, property, forestry, agriculture, etc. Risk of serious human injury. Significant deterioration of air quality causing acute respiratory problems and other health issues.

Do not light fires outdoors, do not burn grass, do not smoke or discard cigarette butts on the ground. Do not use portable stoves or other open flame sources. Follow local bans issued due to drought and fire risk. Stay alert when using agricultural machinery and near railway tracks where sparks from wheels and brakes can ignite vegetation.
